You read that right. The current corporate whipping boy Walmart has donated $1M to hurricane relief.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT - News) will donate $1 million to The Salvation Army to provide early support for upcoming disaster relief assistance, the retailer said Tuesday.Wal-Mart donates $1M to hurricane relief
Currently, The Salvation Army is preparing to serve 400,000 meals per day to victims and first responders.
Wal-Mart also is encouraging the general public to donate to emergency relief efforts through its 3,800 stores and Sam Clubs and through its Web sites.
So now just where are the donations from Target, Costco, Lowes or Home Depot? How about Microsoft, Ben & Jerry's, Heinz (or should we say the Kerry bankroll?) and all those other pro-Democrat controlled corporations. I did a quick Yahoo search and found no other mentions besides Walmart.
Update 09/02/05: Chuck at Simmins.org is tracking corporate donations just as was done for the tsunami disaster.
