In the company of heroes

Don't miss this posting from Caelestis. A friend was telling me last night of his disgust with the lack of appreciation many young men and women (and older for that matter) have for their freedom and prosperity in the U.S.A. Considering many of the places he's been many people don't even know or understand how great we Americans have it.

Caelestis:
On September 11th, 2005 it will have been four years since 9/11, most military enlistments are 4 years in length for the initial term. That means that the men and women in uniform today (a majority of them) are here because they want to be. They are here to fight and to win, the bear this out, while the Army is having a small problem with initial recruits, it is having no problems whatsoever in retaining its combat veterans.

Be sure to go read this exceptional essay of Caelestis.
