It’s Time to De-Fund the UN

What is it about US Politicians? They don't want to listen to their constituents regarding illegal aliens and protecting the US Border. They don't want to listen to their constituents regarding the UN. In fact with both of these issues they are going in the opposite direction. I thought this whole deal with the UN Loan for a building was long dead because I read about it well over a year ago. The situation with the UN is in the gutter for most Americans and yet the Congress is only debating whether to make the loan an interest bearing or non-interest bearing loan. No talk about forgettaboutit to the UN! The only punitive measure the Congress is looking at for the UN with the Oil for Food scandal is withholding 10% of US funding to the UN for 2005 and 20% for 2006 IF the UN doesn't do some clean up measures. This is a slap in the face of all taxpaying Americans.

Just when you think taxpayers have been soaked enough, another ridiculous idea comes from Washington. Now they are talking about sticking the taxpayers with a loan or a loan guarantee for the United Nations to build a new headquarters for a cool $1.3 billion.
